Songs for an American RoadTrip
Any that has been within 100ft of me over the last few weeks would have been bored senseless. 'What?' I hear you ask, 'Bored of you, the great witty bundle of fun that every one loves?'

Well yes sadly. ''tis the case due to me going on about a planned Road Trip in America next year.

So a question to you good kind FOLK - picture yourself in the American Southwest, driving through the desert highway with the roof down and wind going through your hair (or over your bald bonce) - what songs would you want on the air waves?

Chuck Berry - Route 66 is already down loaded as is the Beach Boys for when I leave the desert and head down highway 1.

All the others are over to you!

You are the only other English person I know to have been to Zion, I loved it there.

How long you going to be in Vegas for?

Life is a Highway, (Obviously the original) - not really American but universal.

Combustible Edison - Spy vs Spy

One the trip itself, in and around Monument Valley, rent a 4x4 do the area just south of Mexican Hat and Montezuma Creek (Crick, if you are from around there.) Or if you have time use one to go out to Navajo Mountain. I suppose you could come from that way but I have never tried it.

If you can go north this way, do Elephant Hill and the rest of Canyonlands. Arches and Sliprock (4x4 or bike again) and the rest of Moab. Head out to Castle Valley and see Castle Rock (If you ask nicely, they grow some very good weed or so I hear)

I did NY to LA via the southern states back in 1991, the cassette player didnt work nor the aircon but the radio did. Best listening was in tennessee, the FM wave band was packed with country stations. Musical bliss. Always promised to do it again. Even the AM for the freeform chat shows is brilliant. Best flavour of the USA youll get is the radio!!
